Charlene Jane, twin to Charlotte Jean (Wilkins) Lee. (see: Wilkins, Clarence; Violet Vick). She worked at the Decorah Hospital as an evening dinner tray set-up and serve person. Charlene was active in First Lutheran Church. She graduated from Fairview School of Nursing in Minneapolis and worked in the Decorah Hospital and Luther College Health Service as an RN. She married Roger Anderson . Roger graduated from Luther College in business.
Roger and Charlene have 5 children: Laine, Lance, Christine, Michele, and Jennifer. All have been involved in the WY 100 Mile Endurance Rides, either riding or providing support at the stations. Laine came in first in two different years. His sister, Michele, came in first once, and his mother came in second. Charlene came in first in the 50 Mile Ride.
Laine Aron, graduated from the University of Wyoming. He is a petroleum engineer and is the A-BAR-A Guest Horse Ranch foreman near Encampment, WY Laine married Isabelle Margaret Gilman. They have 2 children: Alysha Marie and Aron Tempest.
Lance Adam graduated from the University of Wyoming with a BS in chemical engineering. Lance enjoys long distance bicyle riding and is considered a technical rock climber.
Christine Renae born in Decorah graduated from the University of Wyoming with degrees in Fitness/Cardiac Rehabilitation and Elementary Education. She teaches in California.
Charlene (Wilkens) Case
Michele graduated from the University of Wyoming. She married Steve Sikes and they have 1 child: Casey Marie. Michele is a high school mathematics teacher and swim coach in Wyoming.
Jennifer Lou, graduated from the University of Wyoming. She is an elementary teacher.
Jennifer married Anthony Williams, who graduated from the University of Wyoming and is a medic in the U.S. Army.
Charlene and Roger Anderson were divorced.
Charlene married Richard Neil Case on 18 May 1978 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Greybull, WY He graduated from Eastern Billings (MT) in music and physical education and then earned an MA in counseling. He received his doctorate in school administration from Chadron State College in Chadron, NE. Rick served in the U.S. Army as a First Lieutenant. He is the Greybull, WY High School principal. Rick is an avid golfer. Charlene continues working as a surgical nurse, presently at Washakie Memorial Hospital in Worland, WY In 1984 she was awarded the Norman S. Holt Award for Nursing Excellence by the Wyoming Hospital Association. Charlene and Rick live in Greybull.
Charlene (Wilkins) Case
Charlene and Charlotte, with their sister Rosalie as coach, performed acrobatics at numerous programs in the Decorah area. They made their debut at the Decorah Centennial in 1949 at the county fairgrounds. Charlene could bend her back so far that it appeared she was sitting on her head. Joyce Anne Akre was born at Decorah, IA, to Norman and Sylvia (Jarland) Akre. She was baptized at Big Canoe Church and confirmed at Decorah Lutheran.
Joyce attended rural schools for 3 years then enrolled in Decorah public schools. She graduated from high school in 1973. Joyce attended Rochester Jr. College and Kirkwood College in Cedar Rapids, receiving her accreditation as a graduate respiratory therapist. She was the recipient of a plaque for achieving the highest scholastic average in the class. Joyce served as respiratory therapist at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids. At the present time she is employed by Hamilton Medical Services as a therapist.
On 16 Oct 1993 Joyce married Joseph Cassis III, son of Joseph and Mary Cassis. Joseph III is president of
